How to scan a business card

    1. Tap Take a photo on your phone, or upload a picture of the card.
    2. Wait a few seconds. The first scan is slower because the reading engine downloads once.
    3. Check the name, title, company, phone numbers, email, website and address. Fix anything that is wrong.
    4. Press Add to list, then scan the next card if you have more.
    5. Download Excel, CSV or vCard. Open the vCard on your phone to add the contact.

    Tips for a better scan

    • Use even daylight or a bright room. Avoid shadows and shiny glare.
    • Keep the card flat and straight, and let it fill most of the frame.
    • Hold the phone still for a moment before you take the photo.
    • If a card has a QR code with a contact inside, the scanner uses it and skips the text reading.
    • Dark text on a plain background reads best. Script fonts and busy backgrounds are harder.

    Frequently Asked Questions

No. The photo is read inside your browser. Only the text that was read from the card is sent to our server to be sorted into fields, and nothing from the card is saved. We only keep an anonymous daily counter for the scan limit. The reading engine and its language files load once from public content delivery networks, the same way many websites load fonts.
You can scan 5 cards per day for each internet connection (IP address), whether you use a desktop or a phone. The limit resets at midnight Riyadh time. A paid version with higher limits is coming soon.
Yes. The scanner reads Arabic and English text, including cards that show both languages. When a card has the same detail in both, the field shows the English text first, then the Arabic text. Printed cards give the best results; decorative or handwritten fonts are harder to read.
Full name, job title, company, mobile, phone, fax, email, website and address. Saudi and international phone formats are recognised, and labels such as Mob, Tel and Fax help put each number in the right field. You can edit every field before downloading.
The scanner checks the photo for a QR code first. If the QR code holds a vCard or MECARD contact, the details are taken straight from it and the text reading step is skipped.
Download the vCard (.vcf) file and open it on your phone. Both iPhone and Android offer to add the contact. Excel and CSV files are for spreadsheets and CRM imports.
Reading text from a photo is never perfect. Glare, shadows, a tilted card, small print or unusual fonts can cause mistakes. Take the photo in even light with the card flat and filling the frame, then correct any field in the review form before you download.
