Is it a leap year?

A year is a leap year if it's divisible by 4, except century years (divisible by 100), unless they're also divisible by 400. So 2000 was a leap year, but 1900 was not.

Earth's orbit takes about 365.25 days, so adding an extra day every 4 years keeps the calendar aligned with the seasons.
